I bought a "new" 750 from a dealer in Feb 2007 for 7,600 pounds. Not sure when the bike was actually manufactured but it had done zero miles and as far as I was concerned it was a new bike. The rrp for these bikes in the UK was 8,999 pounds! 5,400 pounds sounds like a reasonable price to me, but try negotiating.
